Piracy is the action copying the things that are usually meant to be paid for. It is one of the coolest things about the internet. Piracy helps in archival and preservation of older versions of games, platforms like Steam, force obligatory updates of video games preventing people from being able to downgrade to versions that could run better on their machines because developers can be retarded sometimes. Sure some Steam stans will bring up that you can go to certain versions but I think that depends on whether the developer decides to add those into that, with piracy, the only limitation is whether or not the torrents are still being seeded, or if the file hosting is still holding it. Another benefit of piracy is ownership, the more and more time passes the less and less we own and we will be happy as they remind us. A man who pays $120 dollar game has accepted a license that he is capable of renting the game for however long Steam allows them, and also you have to use the Steam game launcher software as that's what the DRM requires that affects performance, while a pirate, just has to wait for the repack's installer or just click the .exe and enjoy the game for however long the files are on his computer, he can move them anywhere and use whatever launcher he so wishes. The pirate has more fredom then the man who pays. Although there are ways to own and pay, game services like GOG, Blu-ray/DVD stores, older consoles, these are ways to own and pay, these things should completely be supported as we need these to preserve ownership and destroy enslavement.
